Donate Goods to the
Citizens Volunteer Council
Donations of goods can include clothing, small electronics, personal hygiene products, and even music and toys. Requests can happen on a daily basis and often do. During the holidays, the CVC and RGSC Community Relations Dept. accept wish lists directly from the residents of the State Supported Living Center (SSLC). Requests are also received from the staff of the State Hospital for the clients there based on need. More information on how to donate is below.

There's always a need.
We gratefully accept new or gently used donations. The following items are always in high demand and run out quickly. Any and all donated items must be clean, safe, and in good condition. We are unable to accept torn, damaged, or ragged items.
Call ahead.
Thank you for your interest in donating! To donate goods, you must first contact the Community Relations office at the Rio Grande State Supported Living Center in Harlingen, Texas. You can coordinate your drop-off with them by calling (956) 364-8255 during their business hours.

The office is typically open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., but staff are frequently in and out of the office. Scheduling a drop-off time in advance is strongly encouraged.
